The star of TV's "Let's Dance" had recently suffered a stroke and pneumonia, the Swedish news agency TT reported Monday.

Brandeby worked as a high school teacher, a taxi driver and gas station attendant before he entered the School of Journalism in Gothenburg in 1979. After a year at the school, he began working as a reporter for Radio Sjuharad. He later went to work at the National Theatre in Gothenburg and appeared on Sveriges Television, TT said.
