Deschanel and Gibbard to divorce

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Zooey Deschanel's publicist has confirmed to People.com the U.S. actress has separated from rocker Ben Gibbard, her husband of two years.

"It's amicable, it's mutual," a separate source close to the couple told the celebrity news Web site Tuesday. "The intention is to move forward with a divorce."

Deschanel is the star of TV's "The New Girl." Gibbard is the lead singer for Death Cab for Cutie.
