SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Former teen heartthrob Scott Baio will play a stay-at-home dad in "Daddy's Home," a pilot ordered by Nickelodeon's Nick at Nite, the network said.

Nickelodeon said it is the first original scripted comedy pilot ever ordered by the network.

"Scott Baio is an actor known and beloved by today's Nick at Nite viewers, many of whom are parents," Marjorie Cohn, head of original programming and development at Nickelodeon, said Wednesday in a release.

"His new project will put a contemporary and comedic twist on parenthood that will make for a great addition to our existing slate of family programming," she said.

Baio, a former teen idol turned VH1 reality TV star, will play an actor who spent 10 years starring as America's favorite TV dad before becoming a stay-at-home father to honor a deal he made with his soap star wife, Nickelodeon said.
