Report: YouTube signs video content deals

HOLLYWOOD, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- YouTube will soon announce it has lined up content deals for about two dozen television-style entertainment channels, sources told The Hollywood Reporter.

The channels are set to debut next year and will provide users with original shows from Warner Bros., BermanBraun, FremantleMedia and ShineReveille.

An announcement is expected within a month, sources told the newspaper.

The project will cost Google as much as $150 million and is part of a drive to beef up YouTube's premium content offerings. The project is separate from YouTube's streaming of movies and TV reruns.
