He will play the role of Randall McCoy in "Hatfields," Nancy Dubuc, History's president and general manager, announced Tuesday.

Paxton joins previously announced Academy Award winner Kevin Costner, who will play the role of Devil Anse Hatfield.

Kevin Reynolds, who directed Costner in "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves," has signed on to direct "Hatfields," which will chronicle the bloody hostilities between two clans that escalated to the point of near war between two U.S. states in the 19th century, History said.
