NEW YORK, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- U.S. actress and reality TV personality Kirstie Alley is in talks to pen a book about how 60 is the new 30, the New York Post reported Thursday.

If the deal is finalized, Simon & Schuster's Atria imprint will publish the book in July 2012, the newspaper said.

"Dancing With the Stars" judge Carrie Ann Inaba described Alley as "the new poster child for life as it should be lived at 60" when the actress competed on the show last season.

The Post said Alley's first book, "How to Lose Your Ass and Regain Your Life," was published by Rodale in 2005, but didn't sell a lot of copies.

"We are in talks with Atria for a book by Kirstie Alley, but we have not signed any papers yet," her agent, Rebecca Gradinger, told the newspaper.

Alley, who turned 60 in January, is best known for her work on TV's "Cheers" and "Veronica's Closet," as well as in the "Look Who's Talking" movies opposite John Travolta.
