VANDALIA, Ill., Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Miranda Cosgrove's representative says the singer and actress broke her ankle in an Illinois tour bus crash Thursday morning.

The 18-year-old "iCarly" star has postponed the rest of her U.S. concert tour while she recuperates from her injury, People.com reported.

"There were five passengers on the bus, and Miranda suffered a broken ankle," her publicist said in a statement issued to the celebrity news Web site. "At the time, we are told everyone will be fine. Her tour is postponed until further notice. Miranda thanks everyone for their understanding and support."

Cosgrove's tour bus struck an overturned tractor-trailer rig about 4:30 a.m. Thursday forcing the closure of westbound Interstate near Vandalia, Ill., police said.

Cosgrove is traveling around the country for her "Dancing Crazy Summer Tour" and had scheduled stops in Kettering, Ohio, Wednesday and Wichita, Kan., Friday.

Illinois State Police reopened one right lane of westbound I-70 at mile marker 73 in Fayette County -- near Brownsville about 14 miles east of Vandalia -- hours after the accident in which the bus hit part of the big rig.

Seven injuries were reported in the crash, including at least one person airlifted by helicopter to a St. Louis hospital.
