LOS ANGELES, July 27 (UPI) -- U.S. cable network Fox says, as of next month, users will be required to prove they have a paid TV subscription before watching its programs online.
The Los Angeles Times said Fox, home of "House," "Glee" and "The Simpsons," will be the first broadcast network to enact such a measure.
Starting Aug. 15, users who want to view Fox programs online the day after they are broadcast will need a login and password.
People who don't subscribe to cable or satellite television services will be forced to wait eight days before they can watch episodes online for free, the Times said.
