Cheryl Cole will apply for visa

LOS ANGELES, June 5 (UPI) -- "X Factor" TV series star Cheryl Cole is seeking a visa to return to the United States to fulfill her contract agreement, The Hollywood Reporter says.

The British pop star has had ongoing drama with the show's producers, Fremantle, about her contract, the entertainment industry trade newspaper reported Sunday.

Cole left the American version of the show after four days for an undisclosed reason. Sources told the Reporter her contract stated she would be paid $1.5 million regardless of whether or not she appeared on the show and she has yet to be paid. Cole is also seeking extra money for performances on the British version of the show, the sources said.

Fremantle took offense at her request for more money, igniting a stand-off between the production company and Cole.

To steer clear of breaching her contract, Cole will be applying for a visa to travel to the United States to be present for some of the show's tapings, the newspaper said. The Reporter's source said she has not done so yet because she is being hounded by paparazzi.
