LOS ANGELES, May 28 (UPI) -- Mariska Hargitay says she will really miss her television partner Christopher Meloni, whose 13-year run on NBC's "Law and Order: SVU" is coming to an end.

Meloni played Detective Stabler since the debut season of the crime series in 1999, but he won't be part of Season 13 due to failure to strike a deal on a new contract, People.com said..

Hargitay said in a written statement Friday night she would soldier on as Detective Olivia Benson despite losing her longtime partner.

"For the past 12 years Chris Meloni has been my partner and friend, both on screen and off," Hargitay said. "He inspired me every day with his integrity, his extraordinary talent and his commitment to the truth. I love him deeply and will miss him terribly."

She added, "I'm so excited to see what he'll do next."
