LOS ANGELES, March 3 (UPI) -- "Two and a Half Men" actor Jon Cryer joked about needing a job in a video clip shown on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in Los Angeles Thursday.

Cryer and the rest of the "Men" cast and crew were suddenly left unemployed last month when the sitcom's producers canceled the rest of the season due to star Charlie Sheen's erratic behavior following long-term substance abuse. Whether the show will return next season remains unclear.

In the "Ellen" clip, Cryer is seen working as a temp and answering the host's phones.

"You really do good work. You do the work of two and a half men," DeGeneres quipped in the video.

"You don't have to say that every time," Cryer replied.

DeGeneres thanked him for helping out, and he said, "You know, I needed the work."
