NEW YORK, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- U.S. television and stage actor Kelsey Grammer says he plans to wed his girlfriend Kayte Walsh "sometime in February."
Grammer, who starred in TV's "Cheers" and "Frasier," as well as the Tony Award-winning musical "La Cage Aux Folles," announced last year he was divorcing his wife, Camille, who is one of the stars of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," after 13 years of marriage.
A few months later, the 55-year-old actor confirmed he is engaged to marry 29-year-old flight attendant Kayte Walsh.
When Grammer appeared on Thursday's edition of "Late Show with David Letterman," Letterman said: "Now, I understand, I'm under the impression that your marriage is ending. Is that a fact?"
Grammer said it was, prompting Letterman to remark, "Well, I'm sorry to hear that, or I'm not sorry to hear that?"
"Well, you are respectfully considerate, and yet pleased for the new developments in my life," Grammer offered.
"Well, it's a difficult time, regardless," Letterman said, "always regardless of circumstances, and especially with kids. Are the kids and everybody all right now?"
"The kids seem to be doing OK, yeah," Grammer said, referring to the son and daughter he has with Camille. "We've been spending quite a bit of time with them, Kayte and I. Kayte's my new girl, and we're planning to get married soon."
"You're getting married soon?" Letterman asked.
"Sometime in February," Grammer replied.
