Longoria confirms she filed for divorce

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Eva Longoria has confirmed she filed for divorce from her husband Tony Parker in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The "Desperate Housewives" star and professional basketball player married three years ago.

"It is with great sadness that after seven years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce," Longoria said in a statement Wednesday afternoon. "We love each other deeply and pray for each other's happiness."

Irreconcilable differences was cited in the legal papers as the cause for the split, UsMagazine.com said.
