NEW YORK, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Comedy Central says it plans to air a tribute to late U.S. stand-up comic Sam Kinison, featuring Chris Rock, Denis Leary, George Lopez and Lewis Black.

Jay Leno, Kathy Griffin and Richard Belzer also took part in the program, "Back From Hell: A Tribute to Sam Kinison," which is set to air on the cable network Nov. 13.

An uncut and uncensored version of the tribute is to be released on DVD Nov. 16.

"For renegade comic Sam Kinison, nothing was out of bounds," the network said in a news release Monday. "Never afraid to be politically incorrect, he took on religion, relationships, sex and drugs, even world hunger."

Comedy Central noted the special has some of Hollywood's biggest names in comedy contributing to the commentary.

"Between their commentaries is a string of some of Kinison's greatest stand-up moments allowing Kinison to be remembered as the one-of-a-kind act that he was," the network said.

"I miss my dad and I miss Sam Kinison. I really wish I could show him what I've done, because he had so much to do with it," Rock said in a statement.

Kinison died in a car crash on the way to a performance in 1992.
