LOS ANGELES, Oct. 7 (UPI) -- NBC stopped production on Jimmy Smits' new U.S. legal drama Wednesday due to low ratings, TVGuide.com said.

However, the network plans to air the five episodes it already has taped and may resume shooting the series if more people tune in to watch them, the report said.
