Montag happy to be independent woman

BURBANK, Calif., March 20 (UPI) -- U.S. TV personality Heidi Montag says she is happy not having a man managing her entertainment career.

Montag, known for her appearances on shows like "The Hills" and "I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here," said during an guest spot on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" she is glad she parted ways with her manager, Aiden Chase, People.com reported Friday.

"It just wasn't feeling right," Montag said. "I just wanted to be in charge as a woman in my own business. I don't really want men telling me what to do and where to go so I said, 'You know what? As a woman I'm going to take control of my career.'"

Montag was previously was managed by her husband, Spencer Pratt, but Montag insists her movie career began flourishing when she fired Pratt as her manager.

"After that is when I got all my movie roles," Montag, 23, said. "I said, 'This is working, this is great!' You know, I think I'm better handling (my business affairs) myself."

People magazine said Montag is set to appear on the big screen beside actress Jennifer Aniston and comedian Adam Sandler in "Just Go With It."
