Thorne-Smith lands role on 'Men'

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Actress Courtney Thorne-Smith has signed up to play a recurring role on the TV comedy "Two and a Half Men," The Hollywood Reporter said Wednesday.

Thorne-Smith is to play the neurotic, single-mother girlfriend of Jon Cryer's character Alan, the entertainment industry trade newspaper said.

The actress previously starred in TV's "According to Jim," "Ally McBeal" and "Melrose Place." She also appeared in the 1986 film "Lucas" opposite "Two and a Half Men" co-star Charlie Sheen.
