LOS ANGELES, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- U.S. television personality Heidi Montag says she's not addicted to plastic surgery even though she had 10 procedures done on a single day in November.

Montag, 23, recently told People magazine she was "beyond obsessed" with trying to improve her appearance, an admission that has since drawn criticism.

"I would say that none of those people know me at all, and that's just a judgment. I'm not addicted," Montag said on Tuesday's "Good Morning America."

Asked what kind of message she thinks her new look sends to young women, Montag said she had to do what she felt was right for her.

"I'm living in my skin, and I look in the mirror and it's my career and my life, and you only have one. So, I want to take advantage of everything and be the best me, in and out, every way," People.com quoted her as saying on "GMA."
