At 22 Nel-Peters has earned her degree in business management at North-West University and helped develop a self-defense program for woman after her own experience being held at gunpoint.

Nel-Peters was asked about what she believed was the most important issue facing women in the workplace. She said, "In some places, women get paid 75 percent of what men earn for doing the same job, working the same hours -- and I do not believe that this is right."
