Orlando Bloom, Christian Bale and Kourtney and Kim Kardashian were among the stars to attend the premiere of the historical drama "The Promise" at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles on April 12, 2017. Set during the end of the Ottoman Empire, the film tells the story of a love triangle between Mikael, an Armenian medical student played by Oscar Isaac, fellow Armenian Ana played by Charlotte Le Bon, and Chris, an American journalist played by Christian Bale, all living in Paris during the Armenian Genocide. The film opens in theaters on April 21.
