By Wade Sheridan

Liam Payne was a member of One Direction -- alongside Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson -- from its inception on "The X Factor" in 2010 until its split in 2016. After, Payne began producing music and started to pursue a solo career. The English singer released the single "Strip that down" in May 2017. He released his first solo studio album, "LP1" in December 2019. Payne turns 30 on Tuesday. Here's a look back at his career through the years.
