Harrison Ford attends Japan premiere of 'Blade Runner 2049' (6 images)

The Blade Runner 2049 cast walks the red carpet for the premiere of the film in Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday.

The film serves as a sequel to the original 1982 Blade Runner which also starred Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard. The sequel takes place 30 years after the first film and follows a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), as he discovers a secret that could have catastrophic consequences. He must find Deckard, a former blade runner who has been missing for 30 years, to save society from chaos.

Fans of the original film were skeptical of a sequel living up to the original, but critics have given the film a 91 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Photos by Keizo Mori/UPI
