Tokyo Comic Con was the brainchild of Stan Lee -- creator of “Spiderman” and “X-Men” -- who later became the chairman emeritus of MARVEL and Steve Wozniac, co-founder of Apple Inc. The pair originally started the "Silicon Valley Comic Con" and brought the same concept to Tokyo in December of 2016.
