Composer Jerry Goldsmith receives posthumous star on Walk of Fame (6 images)

Oscar-winning composer Jerry Goldsmith received a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles on May 9.

During his career, Goldsmith received a total of 18 Academy Award nominations and won the Oscar in 1976 for Best Music, Original Score for "The Omen." Two of the American Film Institute's top 25 film scores of all time are by Goldsmith: "Chinatown" and "Planet of the Apes."

Goldsmith died on July 21, 2004 from colon cancer at the age of 75.
