Oct. 4 (UPI) -- U.S. singer-songwriter Billie Eilish has been booked as the headliner for the 2022 edition of England's Glastonbury Festival. The festival was canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"We couldn't be happier to announce that the wondrous @billieeilish is headlining the Pyramid on the Friday at next year's Glastonbury Festival, becoming the youngest solo headliner in our history," festival representative Emily Eavis tweeted Monday. "This feels like the perfect way for us to return and I cannot wait!"
The 19-year-old Grammy winner made headlines last month with her dazzling appearance in a pink ballgown at the Met Gala in New York City. She also recently performed at the Global Citizen Live concert and was a presenter at the MTV Video Music Awards.
On Friday, composer Danny Elfman announced Eilish will star in a live stage production based on Tim Burton's animated classic, The Nightmare Before Christmas.
"It's my pleasure to announce that special guest star @billieeilish will be joining the nightmare gang to sing Sally for our upcoming Nightmare Before Christmas shows at the Banc of California Stadium," Elfman tweeted.
