Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Sabrina Carpenter sings about reconnecting with a former lover in the new music video for her latest single, "Skinny Dipping."

Carpenter writes notes to herself and places them inside of a box that reads "this too shall pass" in the clip released on Thursday.

The singer dances with the box at night and eventually dumps out all of the notes. Carpenter recalls an old flame in the song and how they run into each other once again.

"We've been swimming on the edge of a cliff/ I'm resistant, but going down with the ship/ It'd be so nice, right? Right?/ If we could take it all off and just exist/ And skinny dip in water under the bridge," Carpenter sings.

"Skinny Dipping" is available to stream on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Pandora, YouTube Music, Tidal, Soundcloud and Deezer.

Carpenter is set to release a new album through Island Records that will contain "Skipping Dipping" and her hit song "Skin." An exact release date has not been announced.
