Aug. 26 (UPI) -- Rapper, singer and songwriter Doja Cat is set to host the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony in New York.
She will also perform at the live event on Sept. 12 at the Barclays Center.

Other artists who are set to take the stage include Shawn Mendes, Chloe Bailey, Twenty One Pilots, Camila Cabello, Lil Nas X, LORDE, Machine Gun Kelly and Olivia Rodrigo.
Voting is now open to fans.
Justin Bieber leads the field with seven nominations, while Megan Thee Stallion is up for six prizes and Billie Eilish, BTS, Doja Cat, Drake, Giveon, Lil Nas X and Olivia Rodrigo are in the running for five VMAs apiece.
Rock band Foo Fighters has already been announced as the winner of the Global Icon Award.
