Carly Pearce joins Grand Ole Opry: 'Dreams come true'

June 23 (UPI) -- Carly Pearce says joining the Grand Ole Opry is a dream come true.

The 31-year-old singer received a surprise invitation from country music star and Opry member Dolly Parton to become a member of the Nashville institution.

"You're looking at the next member of the Grand Ole Opry!" the Grand Ole Opry tweeted. Official induction date set for August 3!"

In a video from June 17 published Tuesday, Pearce thought she was giving an interview about Dollywood when Parton surprised her on stage.

"Dreams come true... sometimes even better than you dare to dream. I couldn't be happier or more honored the be the newest member of the @opry," Pearce captioned the post.

Pearce also reacted on Twitter.

"I've worked & waited my whole life for that moment right there. What a dream last night was @opry," she wrote.

Pearce is known for such singles as "Every Little Thing," "I Hope You're Happy Now" with Lee Brice and "Next Girl." She last released the EP 29 in February.

In September, Pearce said her song "Next Girl" was inspired by "strong and sassy" women, including Parton, Loretta Lynn, Faith Hill and Trisha Yearwood.
