Pet Shop Boys, New Order reschedule joint tour for 2022

June 2 (UPI) -- Pet Shop Boys and New Order have postponed their joint North American tour to 2022, citing the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Due to continuing uncertainty caused by the Covid pandemic, PSB and @neworder unfortunately have to announce that their much-anticipated Unity Tour of North America, scheduled to start September 2021, will be moving to next year," Pet Shop Boys said on Twitter Tuesday.

DJ Paul Oakenfold has also joined the tour, which will begin on Sept. 17 at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto before wrapping up on October 16 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada.

The bands have also added a new tour dates for Brooklyn on Sept. 23 and for Seattle Oct. 14.

Pet Shop Boys last released the album Hotspot in January 2020, while New Order last released live album Education Entertainment Recreation in May.
