Brandi Carlile, Demi Lovato, H.E.R. to honor Elton John at iHeartRadio Music Awards

May 25 (UPI) -- Brandi Carlile, Demi Lovato and H.E.R. will honor Elton John at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards this week.

iHeartMedia said in a press release Tuesday that Carlile, Lovato and H.E.R. will perform a special tribute to John at the awards show Thursday.

John will be honored with the iHeartRadio Icon Award at the ceremony. Chris Martin and Lil Nas X will present the award, which recognizes John's global impact on pop culture, longevity and continued relevance as a touring and radio force.

Usher will host and perform during the iHeartRadio Music Awards, which air Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.

Other performers include The Weeknd with Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak as Silk Sonic, Dan + Shay and Doja Cat. Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Megan Thee Stallion, LL Cool J, Nelly, Machine Gun Kelly, French Montana, Lil Jon, Robin Thicke and other stars will make appearances.

The Weeknd and Megan Thee Stallion lead the list of this year's nominations. The Weeknd is up for eight awards, including Male Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for "Blinding Lights."
