Sept. 6 (UPI) -- Miley Cyrus released the video for her new song Slide Away on Friday. She released the song on Aug. 15.
Slide Away is Cyrus's first single since On A Roll in June. Cyrus previously released the EP She Is Coming on May 31. Her full album, She Is: Miley Cyrus, is due out later this year.
The song is also Cyrus's first release since announcing a separation from her husband, actor Liam Hemsworth. Cyrus has kept busy, performing at the MTV VMAs on Aug. 26. Cyrus also announced her support of Planned Parenthood's "Band Together, Bans Off" program.
The video features Cyrus singing alone in various environments: floating in a pool littered with empty bottles and a disco ball; a club in which Cyrus does not partake in dancing, and walking through a house observing various sleeping women and couples.
"Once upon a time, it was paradise," Cyrus sings. "Once upon a time, I was paralyzed. Think I'm gonna miss these harbor lights, but it's time to let go."
In the chorus, Cyrus begs, "Won't you slide away, back to the ocean. I'll go back to the city lights."
She Is: Miley Cyrus will be Cyrus's seventh studio album since 2007. Her father is country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and she rose to fame playing Hannah Montana, a superstar singer with a double life, on the Disney Channel series.
