May 23 (UPI) -- 5 Seconds of Summer is back with a new music video.

The Australian pop rock band, aka 5SOS, shared a moody video Thursday for the new single "Easier."

The video takes place in a cave and shows Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood and Ashton Irwin tied up or drowning as Hemmings sings about a toxic relationship.

"Watch the EASIER video now on @YouTubeMusic #5SOS," the group tweeted Thursday.

"Easier" appears on 5 Seconds of Summer's forthcoming fourth studio album. The band told Rolling Stone the album is inspired by dark, synth-heavy '80s and '90s acts like Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails.

"There is a darker tone to this record intentionally," the group said. "[There's] a growing attention to industrial rhythm within the band."

5 Seconds of Summer last released the album Youngblood in June and will join the Chainsmokers on tour in September. The band plans to keep releasing singles as it works on its new album.

"Before the end of this year we would love to have at least half the record released through singles," the group said.
