May 15 (UPI) -- South Korean boy band BTS kicked off Good Morning America's summer concert series on Wednesday with a high-energy performance.

Members J-Hope, V, Jungkook, Jimin, Suga, Jin and RM took the stage at Central Park in New York City to perform their song "Boy with Luv."

Fans, known as the BTS Army, traveled thousands of miles and camped out for days in the rain in order to see the boy band perform on Good Morning America, the morning news program said.

The packed audience cheered and sang the lyrics to "Boy with Luv" alongside BTS as they danced around the stage.

"Our fans are the best. They are motivation," BTS said about their dedicated fanbase.

BTS then returned for a performance of "Fire" which featured a number of backup dancers in white shirts and black ties.

Good Morning America's summer concert series will run through August. Ciara, Adam Lambert, Keith Urban and Chance the Rapper are also scheduled to perform.

BTS released their latest EP titled Map of the Soul: Persona in April. The group recently took home the awards for Top Social Artist and Top Duo/Group at the 2019 Billboard Music Awards.
