Jason Isbell, Father John Misty announce joint summer tour

Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Jason Isbell and Father John Misty are teaming up for a joint summer tour.

Rolling Stone confirmed Tuesday that Isbell and his band, the 400 Unit, will tour the U.S. with Misty in June.

Isbell and Misty, born Josh Tillman, will play 18 shows together across the U.S. The pair will be joined by British singer Jade Bird for the majority of the dates, with Erin Rae to open the final three shows.

"It's rare you get to share the stage with your heroes but here we go. I'm supporting Father John Misty and @JasonIsbell on their Summer Tour in June!!!!" Bird tweeted Tuesday.

Isbell and Misty will kick off the tour June 6 in San Diego, Calif., and bring the venture to a close June 29 in Tulsa, Okla. Misty said on his website that tickets go on sale Friday, with pre-sale to begin Wednesday.

Isbell came to fame with the band Drive-By Truckers and released his debut solo album, Sirens of the Ditch, in July 2007. He last released the album The Nashville Sound in June 2017.

Misty is known for such singles as "Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings," "Bored in the USA," "Total Entertainment Forever" and "Mr. Tillman." He released the album God's Favorite Customer in June.
