Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Girls' Generation alum Sooyoung is making her official solo debut.

The 28-year-old K-pop star, born Choi Soo-young, released a single and a music video for her song "Winter Breath" on Thursday.

The Korea Herald said Sooyoung co-produced "Winter Breath" with Command Freaks and Day & Night. The song has a contemplative theme and reflects the "gloomy sentiments of the season."

"Winter Breath is out now," Sooyoung announced in an Instagram post Thursday.

Sooyoung parted ways with Girls' Generation and its agency, SM Entertainment, in October 2017. She last released the album Holiday Night with the girl group in August 2017.

Girls' Generation formed the subgroup Oh!GG in August following Sooyoung, Seohyun and Tiffany's exits, but has yet to announce its official disbandment. Oh!GG released its debut music video, "Lil' Touch" in September.
