BTS meets Janet Jackson at Mnet Asian Music Awards

Dec. 14 (UPI) -- South Korean boy band BTS met music superstar Janet Jackson at the 2018 Mnet Asian Music Awards.

The K-pop group shared a moment with the 52-year-old American singer at the awards show Friday in Hong Kong.

Jackson shared a video of herself greeting the members of BTS backstage. The boy band told Jackson they are big fans of her music.

"Nice meeting u @bts_bighit @MnetMAMA #BTS #2018MAMA #Mnet," she captioned the post.

E! News said BTS presented Jackson with the Worldwide Inspiration Award during the ceremony.

"I'm very excited and honored by this wonderful award. I'm deeply humbled by the idea that I've inspired others," the singer said in her acceptance speech.

In addition, BTS performed its songs "Airplane Pt. 2" and "Idol" during the MAMAs in Hong Kong. The group took home seven awards at the MAMA ceremony Wednesday in Japan, including Worldwide Icon of the Year.
