Dec. 5 (UPI) -- South Korean singer Onew is making his solo debut.

The 28-year-old K-pop star, a member of the boy band SHINee, released his debut solo album, Voice, and a moody music video for the single "Blue" on Wednesday.

SHINee said on Twitter that Onew worked with Rocomberry, Kenzie, Monotree and other artists on the EP. The group promoted Voice and the "Blue" video in tweets Wednesday.

"ONEW 'Blue' MV #ONEW #SHINee #VOICE #Blue," one post reads.

Voice's debut comes just days before Onew is due to begin his mandatory military service. The Chosun Ilbo reported in November the singer will enlist Dec. 10.

Onew will complete five weeks of boot camp before being assigned to his army unit. SHINee's agency, SM Entertainment, said Onew hopes to keep his enlistment quiet and won't hold farewell events for fans.

Onew's SHINee bandmate Key released his own solo album, Face, last week. SHINee released the album The Story of Light this year following member Jonghyun's suicide in December 2017.
