Lima's mom, Filomena Lima, confirmed the star's death to Us Weekly and said her family is struggling with the news.

"My son has passed away," Filomena told the magazine. "His fiancée was living with him and let us know that he passed at 2:45 in the morning."

"He was struggling for 13 months since his cancer diagnosis," she added. "The family is not good."

Lima, born Harold Lima, was diagnosed with stage 4 adrenal cancer in October 2017. His LFO bandmate Brad Fischetti announced the news in a YouTube video at the time.

"Devin asked me to give you this update without him because frankly, he's not feeling very well, but he asked me to send you his love and gratitude for all the love and prayers," the singer said.

"I wish we had better news to share. It's devastating news. But at the same time, there's nobody I know stronger than Devin Lima," he added.

LFO released its self-titled, debut album in 1999, which included the singles "Summer Girls" and "Girl on TV." Lima and Fischetti disbanded the group in 2010 after Rich Cronin's death from leukemia, but reunited as a duo in 2017.
