Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Michael Buble sat down with Today on Monday to discuss his latest album Love and how he has returned to music following his 5-year-old Noah's battle with cancer.

Buble said to Today's Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb that Love, his tenth studio album released on Friday, came about during a fun day with his band at his home.

"I did what I had to do and put my family first and do what anybody would have to do, but god, I remembered why I loved making the music - that whole day," Buble said.

Buble's son Noah was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2016. He has since recovered following treatment.

"You learn a lot about life and what's important and what matters, and you stop sweating the small stuff because you realize that most of the stuff is the small stuff," he said of the experience.

Buble, who recently received the 2,650th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, is expecting his first daughter with his wife Luisana Lopilato. The couple are also parents to 2-year-old son, Elias.
