Stevie Wonder, Faith Hill to sing at Aretha Franklin's funeral

Aug. 24 (UPI) -- Stevie Wonder, Faith Hill, Jennifer Hudson, Chaka Khan and Yolanda Adams are to sing at the private funeral of music legend Aretha Franklin in Detroit on Aug. 31.

The Detroit Free Press said Ronald Isley, Fantasia, Shirley Caesar, the Clark Sisters and Jennifer Holliday are also confirmed as performers for the service at Greater Grace Temple.

Franklin died Aug. 16 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 76.

A representative for Franklin's family said a two-day public viewing of the Queen of Soul is to be held Aug. 28-29 at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. She is expected to lie in state from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day.

The "Respect" and "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" singer won 20 Grammy Awards, including the Legend Award in 1991, the Lifetime Achievement Award in 1994 and the MusiCares Person of the Year in 2008. She was also honored with three American Music Awards, a Golden Globe, two MTV Video Music Awards and three NAACP Image Awards.
