June 21 (UPI) -- Legendary musician Paul McCartney has released two new songs from his upcoming fall album Egypt Station titled "I Don't Know" and "Come On To Me."

The tracks were made available on music streaming services starting Wednesday and on YouTube where they were presented with lyric videos that feature art from the cover of Egypt Station.

The album is set for release on Sept. 7.

"But it's alright, sleep tight/ I will take the strain/ You'll find, love of mine/ You will feel no pain," the former Beatle sings on "I Don't Know," a soft ballad.

"If you come on to me, will I come on to you?" he sings on "Come On To Me," a more upbeat rock song.

Egypt Station is the follow-up to McCartney's last solo outing, 2013's New.

"I liked the words Egypt Station. It reminded me of the 'album' albums we used to make... Egypt Station starts off at the station on the first song and then each song is like a different station. So it gave us some idea to base all the songs around that. I think of it as a dream location that the music emanates from," the 76-year-old said in a statement about the meaning behind the project's title.

McCartney, in an interview with DIY about Egypt Station, commented on how fortunate he is to be able to work with a variety of younger artists such as when he collaborated with Kanye West and Rihanna on 2015 song "FourFiveSeconds."

"It's more a question of me feeling lucky that these people are interested [in working with me] and think that I can bring something to it. For me, I feel great. I like diversity," he said.

McCartney is set to be a featured guest on James Corden's popular Late Late Show segment, Carpool Karaoke this week.
