May 29 (UPI) -- Weezer has released a cover of Toto's "Africa" Monday after a fan Twitter account gained attention for asking the band to perform the song.

The cover, which is available on streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music and on the band's YouTube page, is mostly identical to the original song with added guitar chords.

Artwork for the cover features the @weezerafrica tweet sent to Weezer lead singer Rivers Cuomo that started the campaign to get the song released.

"@RiversCuomo it's about time you bless the rains down in Africa," the tweets reads, referencing a line from the song.

Weezer had released a cover of Toto's "Rosanna" on Thursday.

The band is set to go on a joint summer tour with the Pixies that begins on June 23 at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa before wrapping it up August 12 at the Chin Pavilion in Phoenix.
