The Band Perry singer Kimberly Perry files for divorce

March 6 (UPI) -- The Band Perry singer Kimberly Perry is headed for divorce.

The 34-year-old recording artist confirmed her split from husband and former MLB player J.P. Arencibia in an Instagram post Sunday after nearly four years of marriage.

"Yes, sadly it's true, my marriage has come to an end. I know that beauty will come from these ashes and, as always, I want to thank you all for your love and support. I'll be in touch soon," she wrote.

People reported Perry filed for divorce Friday in Greeneville, Tenn. The singer cited irreconcilable differences for the split.

Arencibia appeared to also address the split Sunday on Twitter by posting lyrics from the Bob Marley song "Three Little Birds."

"All good. Half full mentality," he captioned the post.

Perry and Arencibia married in Greenville in June 2014 after meeting in 2012 at the Florida Strawberry Festival. Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert were among the guests at the wedding.
