Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Big Bang member G-Dragon will begin his mandatory military service this month.
The Korea Herald reported the 29-year-old South Korean rapper, born Kwon Ji-yong, will enter boot camp Feb. 27 without fanfare.
"[G-Dragon] wants to keep it quiet, as he doesn't want to cause trouble for others," G-Dragon's agency, YG Entertainment, said, according to The Chosun Ilbo. "He will fulfill his duty sincerely."
G-Dragon will serve 21 months in the military. The rapper is the second member of Big Bang to enlist, with bandmates Taeyang and Daesung poised to begin their service this year. Taeyang married actress Min Hyo-rin this month.
The Korea Herald said Big Bang will take "a long-term hiatus" as the members fulfill their service. The K-pop stars last released the album Made in December 2016, which debuted at No. 172 on the Billboard 200.
