BTS single 'Mic Drop' spends third week on Billboard Hot 100

Dec. 21 (UPI) -- The BTS single "Mic Drop" is spending a third week on the Billboard Hot 100.

The South Korean boy band's remix of the song featuring Steve Aoki and Desiigner appeared at No. 79 on the chart for the week of Dec. 30.

"Mic Drop" debuted at No. 28 on the list this month and came in at No. 71 last week. The song helped the K-pop group remain at No. 1 on the Billboard Social 50 chart, which ranks popular artists on the leading social media sites.

The Korea Herald reported Billboard is preparing to conduct an in-depth interview with BTS in light of the boy band's international success this year. The K-pop group ranked No. 10 on the company's chart of the Top Artists of 2017.

The original "Mic Drop" appears on BTS' latest EP, Love Yourself 'Her', which debuted in September. The boy band released a music video for the Steve Aoki remix in November.

"I love these guys. These guys are the geniuses," Aoki told Billboard prior to the video's debut. "They're so creative on every level ... They developed their own brand, and they're global. It's incredible working with artists like that."
