Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Selena Gomez debuted a new look Sunday at the 2017 American Music Awards. The 25-year-old singer unveiled short, blonde hair on the awards show red carpet prior to her performance at the ceremony.
Gomez showed a smile in a black leather minidress with star patches and zipper detail. She completed her look with studded pumps and sparkling jewelry.
"so i am a blonde now," the star captioned a photo of herself on Instagram after the event.
Gomez changed into a white slip dress and sneakers for her performance of "Wolves." The song marked her first live performance in over a year due to personal and health issues, including her kidney transplant.
"My first performance in over a year.. the AMAs have been a place where I've shared some of my most intimate moments," the singer wrote Wednesday on Instagram.
"Heart wants what it wants, after treatment," she said, referencing her emotional performance of "The Heart Wants What It Wants" at the 2016 AMAs, "and now Wolves. This Sunday."
"Wolves" is expected to appear on Gomez's third studio album. The star's appearance at the AMAs followed reports she is back together with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber following her split from The Weeknd.
