Billy Joel welcomes third daughter at age 68

Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Music superstar Billy Joel is a dad of three.

The 68-year-old singer's team announced on his website Monday that Joel's wife, Alexis, gave birth to a baby girl, Remy Anne, Sunday, Oct. 22 in New York.

"Alexis and Remy are doing well and everyone is thrilled," a statement reads.

Joel is also parent to 2-year-old daughter Della Rose with Alexis, and 31-year-old daughter Alexa Ray with ex-wife Christie Brinkley.

"Billy Joel and his 31-year-old daughter, singer/songwriter Alexa Ray Joel, were both at Alexis' side as she gave birth at New York University Hospital in New York," the statement says.

Joel's rep confirmed the news Monday, telling People, "Sunday night, Billy and Alexis Joel welcomed Remy Anne into their family." The singer had casually announced Alexis' pregnancy this month while discussing daughter Della with the Belfast Telegraph.

"This one is pretty good," he said of the toddler. "She sleeps through the night. I hope the next one will."

Joel married Alexis, 35, in New York in July 2015 after several years of dating. The couple "surprised guests at their annual July 4th party by exchanging vows in front of their family and close friends," according to Us Weekly.
