Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Katy Perry found herself stuck mid-air during a concert in Nashville, Tenn., this week.

The 32-year-old singer jumped into the crowd after a floating prop malfunctioned Wednesday during a show on her Witness tour, according to E! News.

Perry was performing at Bridgestone Arena when her stage's suspension system stopped working. She joked about the failure as the prop, which was shaped like the planet Saturn, was lowered into the audience.

"This is the first time that I've been stuck in space," the star said, according to People. "I know I'm kind of a space cadet, but actually this thing is stuck."

Perry hovered for a few moments before diving the final few feet into the crowd.

"Well, I guess I'm just going to have to get down and walk amongst my people," she said before jumping. "This is what you get for trying to bring out all of space to Nashville."

Perry thanked fans for attending the concert in a tweet following the show, but didn't mention the prop malfunction.

"SMASHVILLE aka Nashville u were an INCREDIBLE time tonight! Thanks for teaching me how 2write a real song & sticking by me all these years," she wrote.

The Witness tour is in promotion of Perry's fifth studio album of the same name. The singer kicked off the tour Sept. 19 in Montreal, Canada, and will bring the venture to a close in Auckland, New Zealand, in August 2018.
