Oct. 18 (UPI) -- Ed Sheeran updated fans on his condition Tuesday after he was involved in a bicycle crash that forced him to wear a cast on his right arm.

"A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future," the singer wrote, confirming that he will be unable to perform on a number of upcoming dates as part of his ongoing world tour.

"Sadly, this means that the following shows will not be able to go ahead as planned: Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong. I'm waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that," Sheeran said.

"Please stay tuned for more details. PS - Ed isn't typing this as he has both arms casted/bandaged."

Sheeran was scheduled to kick off the Asian leg of his tour Oct. 22. The 26-year-old has a further eight dates scheduled in Asia, including sold-out performances in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.

Sheeran is still set to return stateside for a pair of performances in Los Angeles and New York as part of the annual iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour alongside Taylor Swift and others.
