BTS' 'Love Yourself Seung Her' sets Korean sales record

Oct. 13 (UPI) -- K-pop group BTS broke a national album sales record with their latest album "Love Yourself Seung Her."

"Love Yourself Seung Her" sold 1.2 million copies between its release on Sept. 18 and the end of the month, propelling BTS to the highest sales volume in the history of the Gaon chart.

The album's sales toped a 16-year-old record of 1.44 million copies by boyband g.o.d in Nov. 2001.

Pre-orders for "Love Yourself Seung Her" exceeded 1,112,000 copies and the album sold more than 750,000 copies in its first week.

BTS also found success with the album internationally, becoming the first Korean group to remain on the two main U.S. Billboard charts for three consecutive weeks.
